The Solomon Program is a 6-month program aimed at empowering change.  And at the end of the program, if all the requirements have been met, there will be a $3000 gift given to help you with one of the 3 following areas:

  • Transportation: we understand that a capable vehicle is an important means to obtaining and holding a steady job.
  • Housing: we understand that for some folks, a change of scenery can be a very positive, life-changing experience.
  • Education: we value education and its importance in obtaining and holding a satisfying job.

So what is required over the course of 6 months?

  • Attending 12 different ‘Life Courses’ that will assist with job, relational, and everyday life topics.
  • Attending 12 different ‘Spiritual Enrichment’ Classes that will help us dive deeper into the impact of God and faith can have in our day to day dealings.
  • Participating in 24 hours of outreach & volunteer opportunities to bless those in our community and beyond.
  • Research, plan, and execute a final outreach project that blesses your community.
  • Meet bi-weekly with your support coach (mentor) for the duration of the program.

What the Solomon Program is not:
This program is not a ploy to get people to simply believe what we believe…to get them to come to our churches or anything like that. After years of serving the folks in our community, we want to offer something that can facilitate a longer, lasting impact in the lives of those we care about.  It’s that simple. No strings attached.

Why the ‘Solomon’ Name?
1. King Solomon of the Old Testament chose wisdom: when God offers Solomon the chance to choose great worldly power, Solomon chooses Godly wisdom instead. Though we do provide external relief, we believe the real gift the Solomon Program presents is the internal wisdom and love of God.   (1 Kings 3:4-15)

2. The fall of King Solomon: even the great King Solomon failed in his lifetime. The tragic fall of this great king reminds us that anyone can stumble and encounter hard times. Even those of us running this program. So with this reminder, let’s be encouraged not to judge those we serve, knowing we too (like Solomon) can fall at any time. (1 Kings 11:1-13)

3. Solomon’s Porch: in the New Testament, a section of the Jerusalem Temple is referred to as Solomon’s Colonnade (or porch). It was at this location that many great Godly things were taught, done, seen, and experienced. Our hope is that the Solomon Program is a place that provides this same type of spiritual encouragement and growth. (Acts 5:12)
