Reaching our Community:

1. Saturday Morning Missions: You don’t have to go across the globe to have a mission trip type experience. Outreach to our neighbors in need happens every Saturday morning (rain or shine) leaving from the Church parking lot (left hand corner) at 11am. Great for everyone: families, individuals, mission groups, and even those with little or no outreach experience at all. Just show up! Great opportunity to meet the very safe, practical needs of our neighbors, and meet others at NorthStar as we go out and serve for about 50 minutes. Afterwards, we grab lunch together at Quiznos off of Fields Ertel Road.

2. Holiday Outreaches: throughout the year we have different holiday outreaches to help reach out to our community.
- Turkeyfest: turkey dinners are handed out in lower income areas.
- Children’s Christmas Store: less fortunate children get to shop for their parents.
- The Feast of Kindness: relational outreach to those in need in our community. $100 dollar surprise holiday shopping spree and lunch.
- Easter Egg Outreach: on-site Easter Egg hunts for various apartment complexes in Loveland.
- Christmas Eve Outreach: each year we’ll do an outreach to bless our community leaving from the Christmas Eve Celebration.

3. Larger Scale Community Events: Each season we try to have a larger scale outreach event to serve those in need in our community. From Block Parties to Roller Skating to Family Portrait Outreaches to Oil Changes to anything that will unite and serve the people of our community. We’ll announce these up front at church and through other means.

4. Solomon Ministries :developing deeper relationships with our neighbors in need to bless them spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

a. The Solomon Center. We operate a free resource store out of Grace Church in Loveland every 1st and 3rd Wednesday night of the month from 7-8:30pm.  Our mission is to provide hope by helping the whole person. This means that we not only do we provide free food and toiletry items, but also offer opportunities for relational and spiritual support.  If you are interested in volunteering, there are two ways you can get involved.  Filling up a yellow bag  you grab on a Sunday and bringing it back to church. Or, sign up to volunteer on one of the Wednesday evenings The Solomon Center is open.  Contact Sandi Horine to sign up or for any questions: 652-1205, sandi.horine@yahoo.com.
Grace Church is located at 11020 S. Lebanon Rd. Loveland, OH 45140.

b. Solomon’s HELP: we help with utilities, rent, food, and other items throughout the week for folks in our community who have physical needs. We will help people out with two free 30 dollar gifts over the course of a year. After two free times, we’ll help them out with 4 more 30 dollar gifts, but they first have to join us on outreach or contribute in some other hour-long community service to receive each of those gifts. Volunteer by helping deliver food to folks in need and by helping meet other practical needs.

c. The Solomon Program: a six-month development program that leads our neighbors in need through a 24-week journey of bible study, life skills training, 1-on-1 mentoring/discipleship, and job direction. If participants make it through the course and meet the requirements, they will be rewarded with a $3000 dollar gift toward education, transportation, or housing. If interested in helping in any area of The Solomon Program, contact David Smith, 575-3467, dsmith@northstarvineyard.org.
